Mithra [or Mithras] - A Solar deity [Sun God] from Persia whose birthday was celebrated on December 25
Woad - a purple plant, Isatis. tinctoria, from the Mustard family that was used to dye cloth. Caesar wrote in his Gallic Wars that the natives of Britain wore it to battle and looked fierce
Pegasus - a mythological horse with wings.
Europa - One of Zeus's lovers who was deceived into falling in love with a white bull which was in fact Zeus in disguise.
Priapus [pry'apuss] - A favorite Roman Deity of fertility. An ithyphallic statue universally found in the gardens.
Ithyphallic - Having an erect penis. Mount Olympus - Legendary home of the Gods. Hercules - A Solar Deity [Sun-God] known for his 12 labors [monthly woes]
Ganymede - Jupiter's catamite - [a boy lover to a man.]
Omphale - Kinky Queen of Lydia who took the strong man Hercules prisoner for three years took his club away and swapped clothes with him. She forced him to do menial work for her but during this time she got pregnant twice and had two sets of twins bv him. "
Vestal virgins - priestesses kept at the temple for sexual purposes. They were called virgins because they did not marry.
Liberalia - Celebration of the marriage of Bacchus to Libra. It took place on March 17 and was a ball
Mercury - Messenger of the Gods of Mount Olympus.
Nazarene - priest-like person in biblical times who by vow never cut his hair.
Miriam - Hebrew name for Mary. According to one legend she was the betrothed to a certain Jochanan but became pregnant by a licentious robber called Joseph Pandera. She was reputedly a dresser of women's hair. She gave birth to a bastard son
